50 Doubles Pairs Weathered the Storm in District 5

The Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club in Cathedral City hosted the annual District 5 Doubles Tournament again this season. The first two days had warm, above average temperatures. The 3^rd day’s storm brought plenty of rain to the Coachella Valley as a result of an atmospheric river-driven storm. The Royal Palms board crew did an excellent job of keeping the tournament running and on schedule even though there were times the puddles had to be sopped up by towels. Kudos to the shufflers, board crew, referees, scorekeepers and the kitchen crew who all weathered the storm.

What a difference a day makes because on Friday for the finals, the sun was shining and the snow on the mountains was glistening.
