The 3-day Gene Eager Memorial Any Singles Shuffleboard Tournament was a great success with 68 shufflers competing for cash and pins. The tournament was held on the courts at Tramview Shuffleboard Club in Cathedral City.

The California Shuffleboard Association District 5 hosted this annual event that was the brainstorm of past president Gary Adams after Gene’s untimely death in 2020. Gene, at the time, had just been elected to be the CSA President and was completing a 6-year term of being president of District 5. To honor Gene’s memory, this tournament, which has become an annual event, became one of the tournaments in District 5 that allows the winners in the Championship and Consolation Divisions to be eligible to compete in District 5’s annual Tournament of Champions.

Thank you to Tramview Shuffleboard Club for again being the host location and providing lunch each day; Blaine Clarke (Safari), Head Board Person; John McCready (TriPalm), Head Referee; and Val McDougall (Desert Crest), Head Scorekeeper.
