CSA DISTRICT 5 2025 DOUBLES TOURNAMENT

Forty-two doubles entries competed in the annual District 5 Any Doubles Tournament hosted by the Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club in Cathedral City on January 28 – 30.

Thank you to the Royal Palms shufflers for a great tournament. The board crew, Woody Woodman, Roland Maron & Pierre Hachey, the Head Scorekeeper, Lyle Bremner, the Head Referee, Don Krell, and the entire Royal Palms kitchen crew are to be commended for the great job they did. Also, thank you to all the people who volunteered to keep score and referee every day.

This was another District 5 tournament where there were so many spectators, that extra chairs had to be set out. The support and enthusiasm for all 4 days of the tournament was outstanding. The finals in the Championship Division had shufflers from four District 5 clubs and it was the “red shirt show” in the Consolation Division with all 4 placings from Royal Palms.

3. Pierre Hachey & Roland Dandeneau – Royal Palms
4. Charlene & Lyle Bremner – Royal Palms

Champions Yvonne & Vern were also presented the perpetual traveling plaque sponsored by Nancy & Jerry (deceased) Grieve from the Indian Wells Shuffleboard Club.

This tournament was the final tournament of the District 5 season to qualify for the annual Tournament of Champions on March 3 – 5 hosted by the Desert Crest Shuffleboard Club at Desert Hot Springs. Five shufflers were added to the list of invitees.
