46TH ANNUAL DISTRICT 5 TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

Forty-two men and 31 women competed on the Desert Crest Shuffleboard Club’s shuffleboard courts in Desert Hot Springs for the coveted title of Men’s and Women’s Champions. This was the 46th annual TOC and one that every shuffler in District 5 who places, either in the Championship or Consolation Division, in designated tournaments held in District 5 (Coachella Valley) and District 7 (Hemet area) are invited to compete. Eligibility lasts for 5 years unless you are a Champion in the TOC. By winning this tournament, you are awarded a permanent invitation.

Tournament Chairperson Linda Nielsen, Desert Crest, did an excellent job of organizing this event once again this year. The Head Referee was Don Krell, Royal Palms; Head Scorekeeper, Val McDougall, Desert Crest; Head Board Crew, Larry McCulley & Fred Hayes, Desert Crest; and Approved Tournament Manager, Shirley Eager, Indian Wells. All of these people also competed in the tournament.
